Just a shout out for help with something I am working on. I am developing a bitcoin tax analysis tool. When it comes to reporting trading fees and account statements, often the values are in BTC. Does anyone know an API to use to get historical BTC price for any given day? AVG value would be great but OHLC will do. Thank you
The historical creation cost was found with various BTC ASIC’s. The best you could buy at the time (S9’s at various prices until December 2018 when S15’s came out)
November 2018 there is a massive drop off in price and creation cost. In the 11 days before the price dropped off, the creation cost dropped 33%. This price drop followed the creation cost until the price was halved as the creation cost was halved.
This historical chart looks very similar to the recent boom.
Crypto is seasonal, if you want to make actual money in it you must know the creation cost and buy when the price is near it.
Allowing intelligent investments to mature over time is VERY important in crypto (for example a buy in December 2018 would have been excellent, but it wouldn't have matured for 4-7 months depending on your exit point).
There is no way to identify the bottom, “bargain” price for bitcoin or any crypto without knowing the creation cost.
You will not be able to know where this market will land if you do not know the current creation cost. Find it on my site here: https://www.amsinger.org My masterclass is 100% free and is exceptionally helpful. Much Love and Hard Work, Aaron
Where can I get historical bitcoin price data, on a minutely or 5-minute basis?
For example, the past 24 hours of bitcoin price, every 1 or 5 minutes, live updated. Other than hiring someone to manually gather that data. Surely this resource is available online somewhere. Would also want it for other coins. I will reward $50 in bitcoin if you help me find a site that carries such data for say the top 10 or 20 coins. Ideally a site that has the data in a spreadsheet in .xls form (no .xlsx or anything else) with the prices and marketcap every 1 minute. I'll take what I can get; I just need the data. Can be hourly as well.
Does anyone know of a chart that shows total bitcoin price over time - including all forks? I'm imagining a line graph where the top line is the sum of all forks, and perhaps subdivisions below the line show the contribution from each fork.
How to scrape hourly historical Bitcoin prices to Python using some crypto API??
I am about to make a project on bitcoin, where I analyse how the price movements are affected by Reddit posts and I have two questions: 1) How do I get access to hourly Bitcoin prices over the last couple of months or more? I could scrape daily prices with the Coinmarketcap API, but I was not able to get hourly prices.. 2) I have used the Reddit API for python to scrape posts and comments on Reddit and I seem to only be able to scrape for example the last 1000 posts, and wondered if someone can help me getting access to more posts in a subreddit?
